Latvia Residency by Investment (Golden Visa)

Introduced in 2010, the Latvia Residence by Investment Program offers foreign investors the opportunity to obtain residency through options such as purchasing real estate, investing in a business, purchasing bonds, or investing in the subordinated capital of credit institutions. Latvia became a member of the European Union in 2004 and joined the Schengen Area in 2007.

APPLICATION PROCESS & TIMELINE
MONTH 1–2

Beginning the process

Retainer agreement signed and first payment of professional fees.

Collection of required documents and file preparation as per Government guidelines.

MONTH 2

Government evaluation & investment

Investment type selected and paid.

Submit proof of investment and proof of sufficient funds to reside in Latvia without working.

Client travels to Latvia for biometrics. All required documents submitted at this stage.

MONTH 3–4

Receiving Latvian residency

Receive residence permit upon approval.

Government fee payable only once approved (as stated).

Visit Latvia in person within three months to collect temporary residence permit (ID card).

Client must visit Latvia every year to renew residency card and re-take biometrics (as stated).
