• Parents of applicant and spouse (65+) living with and fully dependent on the applicant

COSTS & FINANCIAL THRESHOLDS

Income & savings proof (as provided)

The D8 requirements include proof of a monthly income of at least 4 minimum wages in Portugal. The minimum wage is provided as €870 (may change), so 4 minimum wages equal €3,480/month. Additional amounts apply for family members, plus proof of bank savings to cover living costs.

The residency validity period is two years, renewable for three years (as provided).

What are the requirements for renewing the residence in Portugal D8?

To renew, the applicant must not be absent from Portugal for more than six consecutive months and must return before exceeding the 6-month period. We recommend residing in Portugal for at least 14–16 months within the 2-year period and at least 20 months within the 3-year period (as provided), with the importance of proving remote work and active income as in the first application.
